SVG Cuts - Halloween Carousel

Ok I am still totally loving my Sizzix Eclips!!!  The things I can make with that machine are amazing.  :)

Even more amazing are the people at SVG Cuts who make the fantastic cut files.  Here is my version of there Summer Carousel.  :)  I had such a blast putting this one together.  :)

The paper line I used was the Graphic 45 Happy Hauntings paper.

OMG wait till you see what I am going to create next.  Mary at SVG Cuts has created a 12" Nutcracker made entirely out of paper!!!  It is absolutely wonderful!!!  I can hardly wait to get started. :)

I have also been playing with my Treasure Box Design cut files.  Another one of my favorite SVG Sites.  :)  I created this 2 page layout using my Kiwi Lane  Designer Templates and the Carving Our Memories cut file from TBD.  :)

Scrapbooking Again :)

Hey All,

Ok in the last post I said I was going to show you all some pictures of the albums I have been working on for my kids for Christmas.  Well, I haven't for got, LOL, I just got a little distracted...what else is new.  Hahahah

So about a month ago I was watching a You Tube from Creative Cricut Designs, and Jennifer had mentioned that she used templates from Kiwi Lane Designs to create the layout she was doing.  It was a fantastic layout!!!

Soooooooo of course I had to check Kiwi Lane out...and OMG....I totally fell in love with their product.  Their templates totally take the stress out of scrapbooking...at least they do for me.  :)   It is super easy to play around with the templates until you get the look you want.  You know exactly what your layout is going to look like before you start cutting your paper.  LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!

They call their style of scrapbooking "Framing".  Here is a video explaining what "Framing" is...

Using these templates has brought me back to doing what I love....scrapbooking...revisiting memories....and being creative.  I have to say that I was in a bit of a rut...ok a lot of a rut.  It has been a long long time since I created a 12x12  layout actually using more than one picture.

I managed to fit in 12 photos on this layout!!!  Whoo Hooo!!   (BTW Kiwi Lane has monthly challenges with give aways!!!  Yayyyyy!!!  I won the last one with the above layout.  :)  Make sure you check it out.)

It seems that the designers from the leading scrapbooking companies have forgotten what scrapbooking is all about.  Don't get me wrong I love looking at their artwork..and I love their products..but seriously is it practical or affordable???  Not in my world it isn't...(this is the realization I have come to).  When I take pictures of my family hanging out and having fun, or of birthdays, or Christmas, or Thanksgiving (I think you get the idea) I don't just take one picture, and I am thinking that a lot of your are the same.  :) and it is completely unrealistic to scrapbook them one at a time or to choose the perfect picture from a birthday party.  (Not that I will never do a layout using one picture again...because I most definitely will...but there will be fewer of them in my scrapbooks).  So I am on a mission.....

I have a scrapbooking room jam packed with papers, and stickers, and flowers, and chipboard, and buttons, and ribbon and brads, and ...and....and...and....OMG!!!!!!!  it is ridiculous the amount of stuff that I have collected and am now hoarding for some strange reason..  So, what the plan is...is to get those photos out of the dozens of boxes, photo albums and off the computer and into scrapbooks, after all this is why I started collecting all of my scrapbooking goodies.....

I have started pulling out photos already.  :)  I mean business this time...hahahah.  It was tough for me to find a starting point...then I thought...I am so far behind already does it really matter where I start...LOL...nope it really doesn't....I have the picture picked for my next double page layout I will post a pic when it is complete.

I am hoping to start moving forward again and keeping things simple.  :)

Exciting News!!!

Ok I am super excited about this news!!!  I am going to be teaching scrapbooking classes again.  Yeah!!!!

I will be teaching at Scrapbook Studio here in Saskatoon.  This is my favorite scrap'n spot here in Saskatoon.  I love the bright and cherry atmosphere and the girls there are absolutely wonderful.  :)

The first class I teach is a beginners class on the 28th of October.  :)  For all of the details check out their blog.  I do believe that they will be posting the class sometime this week.  :)

On a different note I have started Disney Albums for the kids for Christmas.  I have 4 to make so I thought I should get busy now.  :)  I will post pics this evening.  Once again I am blogging from work.  LOL  Shhhhhhhh!!!!

SVG Cut Fall/Halloween Fun!!!!

As promised here are a few pics of the absolutely FANTASTIC SVG files from SVG Cuts!!  This is another one of my favorite online stores.  Leo and Mary are amazing at creating 3D files.  I love them all.  I have a few more pieces in the works but here is what I have created so far.

This first pic is of an Apple Pie that I created using the Fall Harvest SVG Kit from SVG Cuts.  I didn't take a side picture but this is actually a box or container.  The lid (pie crust) comes off and you can store some sweet goodies in there.  LOVE IT!!!!

You would think that these files are complicated to actually put together after cutting...but in all honesty they are super easy.  And if you run into troubles SVG cuts has a YouTube channel with assembly tutorials.

Here are some pics of the Haunted House I created using the Elmhurst Hollow SVG Kit.  I was in a hurry when putting this one together...I am planning on trying again.  The porch on the front of the house is put on backwards...LOL  Looks much better the right way.

The back of the house has openings in it to put some electronic tea lights in as the windows are covered with tissue paper or vellum.  It is super cute when it is all lite up.  :)

I added some black flowersoft for dirt and had a few ghosties and spiders just begging to be added to the house.  :)

Thanks for looking.

Sizzix Eclips!! Loving It!!!

Hey All!!!

Ok I have super exciting news.  About 3 weeks ago I finally received my Sizzix Eclips!!  OMG I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!  It is super easy to use and the ECal software is extremely user friendly.  I am able to use my ever growing collection of SVG files. (SVG files are a cut file)

So needless to say my machine has not stopped cutting in the past 3 weeks.  :)  Here are a couple layouts I have created using SVG files from Treasure Box Designs (My new favorite place to shop!!)  The file I used for this layout was called Nature Nuts

The papers I used are from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider collection.  Love these papers.  :)

These next 2 layouts were created using SVG files from My Scrap Chick and the file was called Our Tree..  Another of my favorite places to shop.  These paper peicings were a little tricky to put together but I love how the layouts turned out.  :)  The papers I used for this one are from the Imaginisce Christmas Cheer paper line.

I will have more pics coming in a day or two!!  I have lots more goodies to show you.
